In front of packed crowds and broadcast around the world, the world’s most famous footballers-turned-golfers will take on Robinswood Golf Course’s signature 12th hole, a breathtaking 170-yard par-3, for a once-in-a-lifetime shot at history.
Taking place as part of the tournament’s competitive matchplay format, The $10M Swing will see every Icon step up individually for a shot at golf’s ultimate prize. With an unprecedented $10 million prize at stake, this will be the biggest single prize ever awarded on one golf hole if an Icon lands a hole-in-one. Not only will players have the chance to etch their names into sporting folklore, but a percentage of winnings will be donated to the player’s chosen charity and the Icons Foundation, which supports MND (Motor Neuron Disease) research.
The world-first event will be broadcast live around the globe, ensuring fans everywhere witness the drama unfold as football’s greatest names swap boots for clubs in pursuit of the ultimate prize. Fans who are residents of the UK can also enter a free competition online to win $1 million, via the Icons Series website, selecting the Icon they believe has the skill and composure to make the ultimate shot. If that Icon hits a hole-in-one, each competition entrant who backed that player will be entered into a prize draw to win $1 million for themselves.
